As a 501(c)3
nonprofit organization, CRES depends on your support.
CRES
is successful because of the energy and commitment of members,
volunteers and donors. The scope and outreach of CRES will be
enhanced and expanded by further use of technology and the expansion
of paid staff to guide and coordinate the CRES pool of dedicated
volunteers.

for Colorado? Mail your donation to CRES at P.O. Box 933, Golden,

CRES Year-End Appeal
As 2009 comes to a close, we want to update you on some of our
accomplishments.
Without your support, we could not have realized many of these
goals.
In 2009, CRES:
-
Grew
attendance at its monthly meetings by 22%, including expanded
educational activities by our regional groups (NCRES and
SECRES).
www.cres-energy.org/events/archives/2009
-
Provided
support to our parent organization as it produced several
reports on the current and future potential of green-collar
jobs.
www.cres-energy.org/greenjobs
-
Continued
to provide testimony to both the Colorado State Legislature and
Public Utilities Commission in support of renewable energy and
energy efficiency.
-
Provided
speakers to the wide variety of groups requesting them in our
continuing efforts to expand public awareness and education
about energy.
www.cres-energy.org/action_speakersbureau.html
-
Held the
annual Colorado Renewable Energy Conference at the School of
Mines (Golden) in August.
www.cres-energy.org/events/conference/2009
-
Held the
annual Tour of Solar Homes in Denver, Ft. Collins, Pueblo and
Colorado Springs as part of the ASES National Solar Tour.
www.cres-energy.org/tour
-
CRES was
also the only ASES Chapter in the nation to offer a free Green
Jobs Fair as part of its Solar Tour, attracting 25+ prospective
employers, 250+ participants, and extended coverage from two
Denver TV stations!
www.cres-energy.org/events/tour/greenjobsfair.html
Thanks to your support, CRES was able to do all of this and more!

Now with 2010 on the horizon, CRES faces significant challenges.
With the strong interest and political support for the New Energy
Economy, Colorado has become a hub for new organizations, more
educational opportunities, new business and more information
available to the average consumer. All of this means more
competition for financial support.
Our goals for 2010 include:
- Expanding and improving communication through our website, e-mail
list, newsletter, social media, and other channels.
- Expanding our presence on Colorado's Western Slope, featuring our
Annual Conference in Montrose on the weekend of June 18-20.
www.cres-energy.org/conference
- Being more proactive with both our membership and current events.
- Placing a larger spotlight on educational and employment
opportunities.
- Expanding our relationship with other like-minded organizations
throughout Colorado.
This is why we ask for your continued support today.
Please go to the CRES website and donate any amount you
can before December 31, 2009:
www.cres-energy.org/joinorder.html#Contribute_to_CRES_
If each of you contributes even a modest amount, we can continue to
grow and expand our activities and influence throughout the state.
Thank you for your generous support of CRES.
Sincerely,
Steve Sargent President of the Board of
Directors Colorado Renewable Energy Society Your Renewable
Energy Resource
NCRES Holiday Party and Board Elections: TONIGHT (Tuesday,
December 8)
The Northern Colorado Renewable Energy Society (NCRES) will hold its
annual Christmas party back at Odell's Brewery (800 E. Lincoln Ave.
in Fort Collins) with pizza and beer for all to celebrate our
renewable future. NCRES will also use this event to elect new board
members (Board Members must already be members of NCRES!).
There will also be a mini-fair of NCRES member companies that
evening. If you are interested in talking about what your enterprise
does in our sustainable community, please let NCRES know. This event
is free of charge and a great way for NCRES members to learn more
about each other. www.ncres.org
CRES has expanded its
social media offerings!

others, CRES expanded into the world of social media this past
summer through its page on LinkedIn:

CRES Annual Meeting, Party, and Silent Auction: Friday, February
26 in Denver!
The 2010 CRES Annual Meeting and Party will take place on Friday,
February 26, at the Colorado History Museum, 1300 Broadway in
Downtown Denver. This venue was chosen due to its central location
in Denver, and to celebrate the unique character of Colorado’s past.
CRES invites you to be a part of the renewable energy movement in
Colorado by donating an item to our silent auction for this event.
Your donations support our annual educational events throughout the
state, including the Colorado Renewable Energy Conference and the
Tour of Solar Homes. Donations from last year’s fundraiser enhanced
these and other educational activities in Colorado.
If you don’t have an item or can’t attend the event but would like
to help anyway, then please consider donating $25 or the amount of
your choice to CRES.
To donate to this effort, please contact CRES at either
303-806-5317 or
silentauction@cres-energy.org.
